About Nevada Northern Railway
It is the last of its kind, the sole survivor of a grand era in the Silver State. Now a National
Historic Landmark, the Nevada Northern Railway Museum takes you back to a time when the iron horse ruled the rails.
It is America’s best-preserved standard-gauge short line and
a complete rail facility.

What our museum visitors say about their experience at NNRY
"Interesting place to go! They have steam engines and a large railyard museum that you can explore. The train ride is cool but every once in a while they have special events like a pumpkin train where you go pick out a pumpkin at the far end of the ride. If you are a fan of the big bang theory this is the place for the engineer experience gift Leonard gives Sheldon."

"We had an absolutely amazing day at the Nevada Northern Railway! It started with a ride on the steam train which was so unique and super relaxing!"

"Great place to visit. You can walk around the grounds, look in the shop, talk to employees and take as many pictures as you want without anyone bothering you. The train excursions are enjoyable and enlighten. There is a lot of history here."

"This place is AMAZING! They have preserved so much incredible railroad history. The buildings are great. The trains are even better! Take a ride on a classic train. It is absolutely fantastic."

"Mark and his Merry Band make the place a lot of fun to visit. Every employee I spoke with was eager to answer any question or help in any way. As others have said, complete access to the grounds and plentiful free parking. I'm excited to hear about their expansion plans, and hope to visit again."

"Fun place to wander around and learn all about trains. You can walk pretty much all over the railway. We went into all of the buildings. Workers are nice and will talk to you about the trains."

"Great stop if your in town ...didn't get to ride since they were fully booked due to eclipse going on that weekend all staff very friendly and helpful . We would definitely try the train next time we are in town "

"Absolutely loved going there. We took the train ride Three times while we were there. Dirt Jr is the engine house mascot. Once you ride the train you can get a tour of the engine house and see a whole bunch of old equipment that was used back in the day."

"This is the most fabulous Steam Railroad experience anywhere. Where else can you go where the ruled are if the door is open, go in! You can visit the shop where they are working on steam locomotives. You can actually operate a real steam locomotive! Nothing beats this place."

"Neat clean grounds and facilities. Lots of parking for cars and RVs. If you're a train buff you gotta see this place. If you take the train ride be aware the open car can get blasted with oily smoke particles from the engine."
